Blind/visually impaired rowing and dragon boat teams to compete on Oklahoma River

Rowing and Dragon Boat teams from NewView Oklahoma will compete in the Oklahoma Regatta Festival, Sept. 30 to Oct. 2, on the Oklahoma River. The teams are comprised of blind and visually impaired individuals from NewView Oklahoma and the Oklahoma City area.
The Dragon Boat team, the NewView Dragon Crew, is sponsored by NewView Oklahoma, the Bricktown Rotary and OKC Riversport. The NewView Dragon Crew will compete in a 200-meter heat at 6:20 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 30.
The VIARP (Visually Impaired Adapted Rowing Project) Vipers are sponsored by the Chesapeake Boathouse and NewView Oklahoma. The Vipers will compete in the 500 meter sprint on Friday, Sept. 30, at 10:00 p.m. The Vipers will also compete in the 4500 meter Head of the Oklahoma race on Sunday, Oct. 2, at 9:55 a.m.
